Craig Hartfield of The Solution Associates, Inc. was the featured speaker at the August 6, 2009 meeting of the BNI Network Partners (S. Tampa) Chapter.

Mr. Hartfield gave an informational speech about what to look for in a software development company, as well as presented a custom software program developed by The Solution Associates to streamline the chapter’s member information process. It has been given a stamp of approval and will enable the BNI South Tampa chapter to easily login, edit and update their member information database.

Some of the elements to successfully obtaining and implementing a custom software solution, Hartfield stressed, are making sure the developer takes notes of your wants and needs, that they visit your company to see how your data moves through its normal processes, and they submit a complete and thorough quote for development. He also made the point that it is important for a company decision maker to understand the distinction between the software he or she needs, as opposed to what he or she wants. It is crucial that in the end, the software provides what the company needs to increase productivity, efficiency and bottom line.
